Jade Lauren is a Detroit-based wardrobe stylist and photographer whose process relies heavily on the use of multiple exposures and manipulation of artificial light. With beginnings as a traditional darkroom photographer, her work evolved into a focus on fashion photography and wardrobe inspired by classic '70s horror films, vintage fashions and restorative nostalgia. Simultaneously creating a conversation with the subject, almost always a woman, Jade allows for organic dialogue between garment and individual. With an almost expressionist approach to her work, the use of instant & 35mm film are key elements to creating a visual diary of emotional experience rather than the physical.
